The band that can so rightfully be called the masterminds behind psychedelic rock have withheld their status as one of the most important and influential bands in history. The university friends in London who started off as The Pink Floyd Sound brought a genuine change to the underground scene to an audience becoming involved in psych music.

Frontman Syd Barrett's gradual decline into drugs forced the band to replace him with David Gilmour. Their more mellow 1973 release stayed on the charts for 591 consecutive weeks and breaking the record as a result. The album was put to the film The Wall, with Bob Geldof playing Pink in a brilliantly told tale loosely based on Barrett, combined with animations like the iconic marching hammers.

The lyrics contained in their brilliantly constructed albums contain wise philosophies and a metaphoric insight into society that still rings true today. Songs like 'Money', 'Pigs', 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' are but a few examples to the exceptional music that these lads have produced.
